Meggan Baumgartner

mb-small.jpgMeggan grew up in Colorado and graduated from the University of Denver in 1997 with a B.S. in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Psychology. Before attending OCOM, she was a research associate for the California Department of Health, conducting molecular biology research for HIV resistant strains and vaccines. While completing her Master’s program, Meggan worked for the prestigious OCOM Research Department coordinating studies funded by the NIH (National Institutes of Health) and in collaboration with NCNM (National College of Naturopathic Medicine) and OHSU (Oregon Health and Sciences University). As part of this work she co-authored two professional articles on Chinese medicine research that are awaiting publication.

Meggan’s strengths include interfacing biomedicine with East Asian medicine, research, and having experienced the cultures in 18 different countries. However, her greatest gift is working with a wide variety of people. Her integrity, intelligence and great sense of humor allow people to feel very comfortable in her presence and she is a catalyst for heart-felt enjoyment of life. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, hiking, skiing, traveling, gardening and reading.
